The history of ADA’s logo: La Belle Ferronière
A few weeks ago we came across some news that jumped to our eyes (http://www.skiragrandimostre.it/leonardo/?setlang=en): La Belle Ferronière, recently restored by specialists of the Louvre, at Palazzo Reale Exhibit in Milan. For some of us it was an opportunity to get get close to the figure picture of where ADA logo comes from. We are pleased, therefore, to take this opportunity to tell the whole story of our logo.
The symbol of ADA system is, since back 1992, a woman’s portrait, the face depicted in the painting La Belle Ferronière of Leonardo. In order to understand the reasons for this choice we must go back to the origin of Arcadia.
The whole ADA system comes from a deep knowledge of production processes in furniture industry. Today our software stands out in the market for its ability to communicate and shape to different production lines with ease and flexibility.
The history of Arcadia software is closely linked to machines, to the knowledge of mechanics and design research. Hence the choice of Leonardo, the precursor of any existing machine inventor, the one who designed, first of all, the very concept of the machine, as well as one of the greatest masters of painting. He practiced that art with extreme abutment, carefully observing the essences of real world and, in particular, the behavior of light, observing its changes not only about forms, but also in harmony and elegance; just think of Mona Lisa.
ADA, as said before, is a software born from the machines and is addressed to users that manage catalogs and orders, but it is also a software that has the aim to make the making of a project more realistic and attractive through the use of lights and shadows, together with three-dimensional appearance. In short, the ADA system wants to be, a bit like the paintings of Leonardo, something usable by everyone but cutting edge at the same time, which is a synthesis of technique, attention to detail and precision: the result of a process of research and development of nearly thirty years.
The choice of La Belle Ferroniere, finally, is due to the fact that it is a less known painting than others, but at the same time is just as beautiful and nice. Once again a parallel with our business philosophy has always been dedicated to do and do well..
For all this we are sure that, when ADA will have reached the age of Belle Ferronière, will bring her years nicely as well…
